 HISTORY

SRAG was started in 1964 in Riggins, Idaho, by three women who loved to paint.  They formed a club that eventually turned into the art guild. From the humble beginnings of three members it has grown to as many as fifty.  The guild has been active in promoting three art shows a year.  The March Artisan Madness show & sale is a “members only” two-day show at the WBARD building in White Bird and is held in conjunction with the annual Joe Wilson Sausage Feed/St. Patrick’s Day event in March.  The Spring show is “members only” and held during White Bird Days on the Saturday before Father’s Day in June.  The fall show takes place the first weekend in October at the Riggins Community Center in Riggins.  The fall show is judged, with up to $1,175 in prize money and open to all adult artists eighteen years or older. Members exhibit their art in the Pine Tree Credit Union in Grangeville.

MEETINGS
On the 2nd Thursday of each month in White Bird, at the Gresham Studio, 10 a.m. (PT), a business meeting takes place and is followed by a workshop or activity.
Workshops, plein air paint-outs and classes with instructors are scheduled each month.
