There’s lots to do in White Bird…year-round.

Other fun, family events range from a Sausage Feed in March, to Art Shows & Sales, Chili Cook-Offs, and more. Community events and festivals occur frequently in White Bird, Idaho and in addition to the annual Festival & Parade in mid June, range from trap shoots, to Easter Egg Hunts, bike rides, a Halloween youth party, the Rebekah Turkey Dinner, and Christmas programs….there’s a lot going on in this small town in north central Idaho.

Valley Art Center Show (month of March)

SRAG (Salmon River Art Guild) has been invited to show their art at the Valley Art Center the month of March.  An opening for the show is Friday, March 1,  4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; refreshments will be provided.  The show runs from March 1 to the 30.  The SRAG will have 30 plus paintings displayed.  The VAC is located at 842 6th St., Clarkston, WA,  509.758.8331.  Hours:  Tues-Sat, 10 to 4.  Come meet the artists.

Art Show & Sale “March Artisan Madness”

The Salmon River Art Guild will have their very popular March Artisan Madness Show on March 16-17, 2019, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This year is a two- day show held in the White Bird Area Recreation Building (old school).  Both rooms will be filled with artisan creations, $150 or less.  “Artisan” means you never know what you might find!  Art is not limited to only paintings.  The artists are getting more creative every year.  Come and enjoy the art and visit with the artists!!!

White Bird Community Library Bake Sale

Also at the WBARD on March 16 delicious baked goods for sale from 8-12.  The volunteers would like to thank the SRAG for “sharing” their time with us.  The library needs your support to continue being your local resource center.  Stop by the library to see the great selection of books.  Wi-Fi, 24/7.  There is a computer for public use.  Printing and copy services are also available.

59th Annual Big Horn Outdoor Adventure Show in Spokane

Some White Bird merchants will be participating in this spectacular show.  The Big Horn Show is one of the oldest and longest continually operated sports and recreation shows in the United States.  Quite a drive to Spokane, yes; but, what a show!!!  As their ad says, “There is something for everyone at the Big Horn Show.”    


White Bird Rodeo Queen Tryouts

Attention young women, ages 13 – 18, who reside in Adams, Idaho, Lewis, Nezperce or Valley counties:
Announcing tryouts for the 30th annual White Bird Rodeo Queen at the White Bird Rodeo Arena south of town on Hwy 95, 2 p.m. (Pacific Time).  Contact Kami Fogelman at 208.983.1726 or 208.983.8779 for further details.

After the tryouts, stop by the IOOF Hall in White Bird for the spaghetti feed dinner and dance from 5-7 p.m.  Menu:  spaghetti, salad, French bread, and dessert.  Adults, $7; children, $3.  Dance to the music of Joaquin, Verna, and Dave after the dinner (cover for the dance is $5).  Live and silent auctions.  The 2019 Rodeo Queen will be announced during this evening’s fun.  Auction items would be greatly appreciated.  Contact Vicki Smith, 208.507.0780, or Toni, 208.983.7701 if you have items to donate.

Salmon River Jet Boat Fundraiser

Also on March 23 at 6 p.m., our friends in Riggins will have a (spaghetti feed) jet boat fundraiser.  Beer and wine will be available.  There will auctions (live and silent) and drawings.  A portion of the proceeds to benefit Salmon River Schools.  For more information call  Glenna, 208.315.2309.  The Jet Boat Races are on April 19, 20, 21.
