There’s lots to do in White Bird…year-round.

Other fun, family events range from a Sausage Feed in March, to Art Shows & Sales, Chili Cook-Offs, and more. Community events and festivals occur frequently in White Bird, Idaho and in addition to the annual Festival & Parade in mid June, range from trap shoots, to Easter Egg Hunts, bike rides, a Halloween youth party, the Rebekah Turkey Dinner, and Christmas programs….there’s a lot going on in this small town in north central Idaho.

March 08 White Bird Chamber of Commerce Open Forum, An Evening of Sharing

The Chamber of Commerce extends an invitation to an open form, community meeting, to be held March 8, 2018, at 6:00 PM at the IOOF Hall.  Organizations will have an opportunity to explain their purpose/mission statements.  How can we assist each other in upcoming events?  Please attend this evening of exchange.  Share your ideas; meet someone new…


Art Show & Sale “March Miniature Madness”

The Salmon River Art Guild is presenting a collection of miniature (nothing larger than 11 x 14) art pieces; all are priced at $50 or less.  Held at Hoot’s Café from 8 AM to 3 PM (PST).  A wonderful opportunity to come out for lunch, visit with the artists, and enjoy the spectacular art work.

White Bird Community Library Bake Sale

Also on this day, delicious baked goods for sale just inside Hoot’s from 8-12.  The volunteers would like to thank the SRAG for “sharing” their time with us—and also thank Hootie for providing a spot in her restaurant!  The library needs your support to continue being your local resource center.  Stop by the library to see the great selection of books.  Wi-Fi, 24/7.  There is a computer for public use.  Printing and copy services are also available.

  Menu:  Sausage, Hotcakes, Scrambled Eggs, and Beverages; served family style
  Delicious sausage prepared by Mt. View Meats in Riggins
  A Community Event sponsored by the White Bird Chamber of Commerce
  A portion of the proceeds to be donated to various community organizations in memory of Joe and Ada Wilson
  Prices include tax: $8 per person; $4.00, 5 and under

    White Bird Rodeo Queen Tryouts (Moved to April 14th)

Attention young women, ages 13 – 18, who reside in Adams, Idaho, Lewis, Nezperce or Valley counties:
Announcing tryouts for the 29th annual 2018 White Bird Rodeo Queen at the White Bird Rodeo Arena south of town on Hwy 95, 1 PM (Pacific Time).  Contact Kami at 208.983.1726 or 208.983.8779 for further details.

 

Rifle and Pistol Shoot

Everyone is welcome at the White Bird Gun Club at 8 AM (Pacific Time).  There will be 11 different categories with 4 prizes awarded in each category.  Cost is $1 per relay.  Hamburgers and soft drinks will be available.  There will also be a private gun sale rack.  Call Dave Cook, 628.3759, for more details.

Canyon House 15th Anniversary Sale, March 24th and 25th

Congratulations to the Canyon House!!!  A “Fun Store in a Small Town.”  Celebrate with Joaquin, Verna, and Nicole.  Enjoy a cup of their “in-house” coffee and homemade cookies.  Many sale items.  Door prizes; you could be a lucky winner!

WBARD Community Breakfast Potluck, 8 AM Sunday

Join your friends and neighbors for a delicious breakfast at the Recreation Building.  No charge.  Menu to be announced.


March 31

Easter Egg Hunt

10 AM at the school (WBARD building).   This very popular event is for toddlers thru 6th grade.  See the Easter Bunny (take a photo) and find those eggs!  New this year:  a raffle prize drawing for an adult as well as the kids.  Hot dogs and drinks will be available for $1.00 each (this helps with next year’s costs).   Donations and Volunteers are needed.  Renee and Cody Farmer, thank you for leading this event!  If you would like to donate, mail checks (payable to Renee Farmer) at P.O. Rebekah Bake Sale

Also on March 31st at 9 AM.  Pies, cakes, cookies, and much more.  Annual fundraiser.   On your way to the Easter Egg Hunt, stop by the IOOF Hall!  Shop early; this sale is usually a sellout.  And  (Linda Hieter, community health worker, will be offering free health screenings.)
