An old-fashioned Parade, Celebration, and hometown Rodeo during White Bird Days on Father’s Day weekend in mid-June is always wildly popular. Other fun, family events range from a Sausage Feed in March, to Art Shows & Sales, Chili Cook-Offs, and more. Saturday, June 2nd; race begins at 9:00 AMEnjoy beautiful scenery as you face the challenging switchbacks (13 mile course) of the Old White Bird Grade!  All ages welcome; picnic lunch after the ride at Hammer Creek Recreational Park (contributions accepted).  More information and a link to registration forms available here.

Riggins Big Water Blowout River Festival

Have you been surfing for the BIGGEST Whitewater Adventure in Idaho this summer?  Then set your calendar for Saturday, June 2, and make your destination “The Big Water Blowout River Festival” on the Salmon River in Riggins Idaho sponsored by the Big Water Blowout Committee.

Celebrating 40 Years!!!

This 2018, family event is organized by White Bird Medical & Relief Fund

  • This Year’s Theme:  “Mardi Gras
  • Cowboy Breakfast, IOOF Hall, 7-10 AM; Hotcakes, Ham & Eggs w/drink; support the Rodeo
  • Horse Pucky ticket sales, before the parade
  • Parade at 11 AM; parade line-up begins at 10 AM
  • Parade announcers Walt Lindsey and Wendy Kunkel; National Anthem sung by Kate Buck

  • Live music downtown on Friday evening and Saturday night, beginning around 8 PM, following the rodeo.

  • Health Screenings offered at City Hall by Linda Hieter
  • Volunteer of the Year Award to be presented at the end of the parade
  • Kids’ Games at the new, recreation park (old school), following the parade.  Whether your a kid, or a kid at heart, you will enjoy these games guaranteed to entertain the entire family.  So, come on down for some good, old-fashioned fun!!!
  • Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday morning and take down on Sunday; please help.
  • Tour the new White Bird Museum located in the Community Church.  The museum features local history of White Bird and Idaho County.  The building will also be available for private events.  Contact the Ringsmiths for more details, 839.2619.

June 30Second Annual American Legion/Legion Riders Crawdad Boil

Louisiana style Crawdad Boil.  All you can eat til it’s gone.  $20.00 presale tickets.  $25.00 at the door.  DJ music, karaoke, raffle drawings for gear, keg beer by donation, and MORE!  Don’t miss this growing event!  In downtown White Bird starting at 4 PM (PDT).  Tickets are available through Hammer Down River Excursions and the American Legion White Bird Post 152.  Or call  208.839.9993.

Winchester Rodeo
