Happy Labor Day

Labor Day

Did you know?
Labor Day is held annually on the first Monday in September. It was originally organized to celebrate the strengths of various labor associations and their contributions to the US economy. The original intent was for the day to be filled with a street parade to allow the public to appreciate the trade and labor organizations. In modern times it is more a day of rest. For many it marks the end of summer and a last chance to take a trip or hold an outdoor event. The first Labor Day was held in 1882 to create a holiday for workers. It became a federal holiday in 1894.
