An old-fashioned Parade, Celebration, and hometown Rodeo during White Bird Days on Father’s Day weekend in mid-June is always wildly popular. Other fun, family events range from a Sausage Feed in March, to Art Shows & Sales, Chili Cook-Offs, and more. Community events and festivals occur frequently in White Bird, Idaho and in addition to the annual Festival & Parade in mid June, range from trap shoots, to Easter Egg Hunts, bike rides, a Halloween youth party, the Rebekah Turkey Dinner, and Christmas programs….there’s a lot going on in this small town in north central Idaho.

Christmas Decorating Contest – Light up the town!!!

This is a very popular event enjoyed by the community.  It was a beautiful experience to ride around the area and see all the brightly lighted homes and businesses.  So, this year, why not join in the fun?  Decorate the exterior of your home or business.  (Must be within zip code 83554). Prizes for the best decorations to be awarded at the Lighted Parade on December 15Judging will be the night of December 14.  Have your lights on at 6 p.m.

Help Decorate White Bird, Saturday, December 1

 Join others at Veterans’ Park on Saturday, December 1, 11 a.m. to help decorate our town for the holidays (The Bridge, The Park, Businesses).   Volunteers needed!  Turn on the Lights, String the Garland.  Come join the Fun!

22nd Annual Beadwork Bazaar

LAPWAI, ID — Looking for unique and special gifts for the holidays?  Nez Perce National Historical Park is holding its 22nd Annual Beadwork Bazaar. Local artists will be selling their crafts at the Spalding Visitor Center on Saturday December 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Beadwork Bazaar offers a wide variety of one-of-a kind artwork including beaded and other traditional jewelry.  The event is free to the public and artists will give demonstrations throughout the day. Riggins Jet Boater’s Winter Ball, Saturday, December 8

Dress up for this special evening and enjoy delicious food, good music, and dancing.  This is a fund raiser for the Salmon River Jet Boat Race Fund.

  • Hors d’oeuvres, Dinner and Dance. $45/person.  Reservation Required.  Seating is limited.
  • No Host Cocktail Hour, 6 p.m.; Dinner at 7 p.m.  Prime Rib and Seven Devil’s Shrimp.

White Bird Christmas Parade and Celebration and Fireworks, Saturday, December 15

Fun for everyone.  Kids, come meet Santa.  Enjoy the parade, see the lights, join friends/neighbors.

  • Parade lineup is at 5:30 p.m. at the top of the hill pullout.  Parade comes down the hill at 6 p.m.  Prizes awarded.

Ring in the New Year, 2019

Hoot’s Café…Dinner is served from 5-8 p.m.  Dinner choices are New York Steak, Prime Rib, & Baby Back Ribs all with Salad Bar included.   Music will be provided by Joaquin, Verna, and Dave starting at 8 p.m.  Soft drinks, coffee, beer, and wine will be available at the back bar.  Hootie says, “Happy New Year!”
