Cassie Chandler of Slate Creek was chosen 2017 White Bird Rodeo Queen at tryouts on March 18th. She is 15 and a freshman at Grangeville High School. Her parents, Travis and Shandra, must be very proud!!! We’ll be seeing her at this year’s Rodeo on June 16th and 17th.
Rodeos are a special part of the western culture and White Bird Idaho with its Nez Perce Indian culture and the rugged cattle ranching influences is not one to shy away from whooping it up. White Bird Days and Rodeo is our annual event to bring out the best of our cowboys and cowgirls through competitive events that are as much a part of the people, the cultures and traditions as the Salmon River that flows by this quaint little Central Idaho town. If you’re planning travel to Central Idaho, join us in Mid June every year when we celebrate White Bird Days and Rodeo. You’ll have a memorable time, we guarantee it.
It was another great year for the rodeo. Here are a few memories of the 2016 event. A great big “thank you” to the “Idaho Free Press” for these amazing photos. (And another “thanks” to Toni Baker for assistance in getting these photographs.)
